Crossovers can either be good or bad. Someone decided it would be a good idea to make Hearthstone cards out of Dota 2 heroes, and itโs quite impressive. There are 144 images in total featuring heroes, summoned units, creeps, and skills, each with their own descriptions based on their Dota 2 counterparts.

And boy, do these cards do the heroes justice. Mogul Khan (Axe) is a Taunt card, meaning that all enemies must attack him before others. This is directly based off his Dota 2 skill, Berserkerโs Call. Morphling retains his annoying Agility and Strength gain via a card ability that allows him to convert damage to health and vice-versa, and those are just two examples out of the 144 cards. Granted, not all the cards make sense; Crystal Maiden has an ability that decreases the opponentโs base intelligence each turn, which sounds overpoweredโuntil you realize Hearthstone has no intelligence stat.
If youโre wondering why Axe was referred to as Mogul Khan, thatโs because his full name from Warcraft III (WC3) Dota is โMogul Khan the Axeโ. You can find more WC3 Dota nostalgia with the Anti-Mage being named Magina and Enigmaโs old moniker, Darchow, revived. Check out some of the images here:
Obviously, these cards arenโt real. They were made via the Hearthcard website, and make use of images both from Valve and other independent artists. Still, itโs a pity that they arenโt real; Iโd love to put the Darchow card out in a game!
