The closest you’ll get to seeing her live: Hatsune Miku holographic Hako Vision toy announced!
Come August 11, fans will get to watch Hatsune Miku sing and dance in the palm of their hands.
Hako Visions are some of the coolest novelty toys to come out in recent years. The way they work is simple, yet genius. The Hako Vision is basically a box containing a character model, with a special lens placed in its front. By using a smartphone to scan a QR code on the side of the Hako Vision, you can access a Youtube page containing a special video.
By playing the video and placing a phone above the Hako Vision, the phone projects a light show through the lens, which in turn produces a brilliant holographic effect, animating the character in the Hako Vision. Here’s a video of a Gundam Hako Vision in action, although I must say that it is even more gorgeous and breathtaking when seen in real life.
Given the success of the series including the hotcake-level sales of Hatsune Miku Project Diva: F 2nd, it’s no surprise that Hatsune Miku is the latest star of the Hako Vision line. There will be two variations of the toy available for sale, each one playing two different songs. The green box contains the songs “Tell Your World” and “Nijigen Dream Fever (two-dimensional dream fever)”, and the pink box will play the songs “World Is Mine” and “Story Rider”.
Preorders for the item are up on Amiami, and having personally had my mind blown by Hako Visions in the past, I would highly recommend this item to anyone who considers themselves Hatsune Miku fans.
