Elon Musk’s SpaceX eyes $200b valuation with potential share sale, sources say

SpaceX, Elon Musk’s space service and aerospace firm, is rumored to be discussing a potential stock sale. This move could put its value to around US$200 billion, up from its previous valuation of US$180 billion, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

The company is contemplating a tender offer that would allow its employees and investors to offload their shares. One of the sources said this sale could start in June, with the share price likely to be between US$108 and US$110 each.

If the tender offer reaches the discussed valuation, it would put SpaceX among the world’s largest companies in terms of market capitalization.

However, the final details of the deal are undecided and might differ according to demand from those selling and buying.

On X (formerly Twitter), Musk said that SpaceX hosts “liquidity rounds” roughly every six months. He also noted that the firm doesn’t need extra capital right now and plans to buy back shares. The company’s other officials have not commented on the development.

Recently, SpaceX’s satellite internet service Starlink began operations in Indonesia following Musk’s visit to the country earlier this month. In addition to Indonesia, Starlink is also available in two other Southeast Asian countries in Malaysia and the Philippines.
