The startup is developing sugar reduction technology using naturally occurring microbes and proprietary sugar conversion processes.
It claims to be able to reduce sugar and calorie content in juices to “near zero” while preserving nutritional value.
JuiceInnov8 said it’s working with several food and beverage manufacturers in Asia and North America to implement its technology.
It said it will use the capital to expand its core scientist and engineering team and accelerate the development of its sugar reduction platform to commercial scale.
JuiceInnov8 previously raised US$500,000 in a seed round led by Intania Open Innovation Club. Following its pre-series A raise, it has secured US$1.2 million total funding to date.
500 Startups revealed JuiceInnov8 as one of its new Tuk Tuks II fund’s maiden investments last December.
