The multimillion-dollar acquisition follows Mighty Jaxx’s recent US$20 million series A+ funding round and aims to expand its ability to develop products that exist in both the physical and digital worlds, according to a statement.
The move is also a step toward meeting the growing demand from fans and collectors, as the acquisitions will allow the company to develop better technical expertise. The acquired firms will continue to operate independently while collaborating under Mighty Jaxx’s management.
The acquisition of Kinetiquettes also adds new licensed intellectual properties of popular games and anime titles – such as Monster Hunter and Attack on Titan – to Mighty Jaxx’s portfolio.
Additionally, the Singapore-based collectibles platform can leverage PlayE’s direct-to-consumer network to strengthen its own channels, increasing the visibility of its products to its target audience of game enthusiasts and collectors.
