One of the things I was expecting Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 to be was a 3D Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It wasn’t, but my fellow fanboys and fangirls, let’s take a moment to rejoice nonetheless, because we’re getting downloadable content (DLC) with Alucard. He isn’t the same Alucard from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, but he’s still awesome nonetheless.
Fan-favorite Alcuard, son of Dracula, will be a playable character in the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 – Revelations DLC. The new content follows the events leading to Lords of Shadow 2, and allows Alucard to use Glaciem and Igneas powers as well as vampiric abilities to transform into a wolf, turn into a swarm of bats, and turn back time. Revelations is said to expand the story of Lords of Shadow 2 by unveiling secrets involving the legendary Belmont clan, and Alucard’s inevitable link to his father’s fate.
This is not the first time we’re getting to see Alucard in the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow series; he was also playable in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate. I can’t say if Revelations will be better than Lords of Shadow 2, but at least we’re getting Alucard. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 – Revelations DLC will be available for the PlayStation 3, XBOX 360, and PC.
