Easy Ship takes gold at Startup Arena in Singapore, walks away with $15K prize

Tommaso Tamburnotti from Easy Ship celebrates the win at Startup Arena.
After an intense two hours of pitches from nine of Asia’s best bootstrapped startups, Easy Ship this afternoon emerged as the winner of our Startup Arena contest at Tech in Asia Singapore 2015.
Easy Ship, which is based in Hong Kong, takes away the US$15,000 Arena prize, which will help the startup expand its shipping service that’s aimed at ecommerce merchants. The idea is that Easy Ship offers a single end-to-end solution for pick-up, packing, labelling, shipping, and tracking. The two co-founders are Rocket Internet execs with knowledge of what online merchants want and need from their time working at Lazada.
The second prize at Startup Arena was awarded to Eatigo, while OnOnPay secured third spot. Nine startups have been preparing for the contest for the past couple of months.

The four expert judges (pictured above, L-R) were Dmitry Levit, partner at Digital Media Partners; Saemin Ahn, managing partner at Rakuten Ventures; Shinichi Takamiya, general partner and chief strategy officer at Globis Capital Partners; and Kevin Hale, partner at Y Combinator. (Disclosure: Tech in Asia is also a YC startup. See our ethics page for more information).
After each pitch, the judges grilled the entrepreneurs onstage in front of an audience of approximately 1,000 people about their business models and the markets they’re tackling.
Here are the stories on all nine startups that took part in Arena:
