Motorist.sg wins Tech in Asia’s Pitch Night

In partnership withHReasily

On the evening of November 28, we held our second Tech in Asia Pitch Night in partnership with human resources software-as-a-service company, HReasily. Six startup finalists gave their pitches in front of a panel of investor-judges and over 60 attendees from the tech community.

Startups were then judged based on their clarity of pitch, idea, business model, and investment-worthiness.

Here’s an overview of the six startups and their business models.

CollabDeen

In order to run a community efficiently, community managers need to use many tools across multiple platforms. But this can be tedious, and communication may get lost in the chaos.

CollabDeen’s management app aims to make this workflow better for the Muslim community by marrying event management, communication channels, fundraising, and video streaming into one.

Elxr

Why do people respond differently to the same exercises? Elxr wants to combat this question using genetics.

The company provides a DNA test kit which analyzes ACTN-3, a gene that’s claimed to be associated with athletic performance. Users are provided with a customized training program based on the results of the DNA test and their current fitness level.

Motorist

Motorist aims to be the go-to platform for car owners to conveniently manage all aspects of vehicle ownership.

Besides improving tasks like vehicle management, insurance renewal, and car transactions, the platform also provides traffic information and a car plate messaging feature to connect drivers.

In January this year, the company raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from JobsCentral co-founders Der Shing Lim and Shao-Ning Huang and Zopim’s Royston Tay.

DataVLT

While companies are enamored with buzzwords like big data and data science, most are still struggling to analyze and turn data into actionable insights.

DataVLT simplifies the process by cleaning, processing and visualizing the data on its platform using AI and machine learning.
