Tamil and Chinese Script .SG Domain Name Offered by SGNIC

Now with Singapore Network Innovation Centre (SGNIC), any interested applicants can register their website address with “.sg” in Tamil or Chinese scripts for business purposes. This was announced last week with their registration periods divided into three phases: Sunrise Phase 1 (4 Jul-15 Aug), Sunrise Phase 2 (12 Sep-8 Nov) and General Launch (14 Dec 2011 onwards). Applications during the Sunrise Phases will be batch-processed while applications for the General Launch will be on a first-come-first-served basis.

Aligning with their mission where SGNIC administer and promote .SG domain names, SGNIC offers domain names in the Chinese and Tamil script as the suffix to mean “Singapore” like this (from the Registration Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines PDF guide):

In addition, applicants can not mix Tamil and Chinese languages in their website address.

Chinese domain names will also automatically be registered in both Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese scripts.
