In the last five years being in the startup scene, I’ve probably met over a thousand founders across the region. In the months and years that follow their initial founding, some will fail, a tiny percentage will succeed, and many will experience the fatigue only a founder can.
What is founder fatigue?
It’s those hours or months or moments where a founder feels the burn of starting up. Maybe it’s because the runway is running out, maybe the equity isn’t enough to justify the exit that looks just too far away, maybe their competitors are looming, or maybe it’s just that nothing is going as planned, things look desperate, and it’s time to give up soon.
I’d like to know from you, our dear readers, what are ways that you seen people deal with it? If you’re a founder, what do you do? If your friend is a founder, how have you seen them deal with it? Time to sell? Time to take a vacation? Time to go back to work? Let us know below!
