I’m Steve Melhuish, co-founder and CEO of PropertyGuru. AMA!

Hey there TIA community!

I’m Steve from PropertyGuru. We started PropertyGuru in 2006, because we were really frustrated with how difficult it was to find a home in Singapore then. 10 years on, we’ve grown to over 14 million monthly users across four markets, but our mission remains the same: to help individuals and families find the right home, by providing the best information for them to make an informed, confident decision.

A few fun stuff about PropertyGuru:

• Most people gain a few pounds (or more) after joining PropertyGuru. It’s the snacks, the good food around our office, and the beer. Mostly the beer.
• We try to make ourselves feel better by having fruits each Wednesday, but it doesn’t stop the median weight at our office from increasing.
• Every year, we try to give back to the community, either around children, or homes. Last year, we participated in Hair for Hope for the Children’s Cancer Society, and both my co-founder, Jani, and myself, shaved our heads.
