Hola! For September’s Tech in Asia (TIA) founders meetup, we have Marcus Tan, co-founder and President at Carousell, and Willis Wee, founder and CEO at Tech in Asia.
They will be sharing about their journey building a product around the community, the importance of making what users want and most importantly, tips on making product decisions and community building.

Marcus has always been passionate about design and community.
He had the opportunity to develop these two areas of interest during Carousell’s early days, where he worked on product and brand design as a self-taught designer. In addition, he was heavily involved in community building. Marcus’ role has since expanded to Operations and Human Resources.

Willis is obsessed with building a product that people love.
He picked up product management in the past year, and has been actively involved in Tech in Asia’s humble product milestones. Willis believes in making data-driven decisions as the fundamental principle when it comes to giving what users want.
He is a community advocate and is also a huge fan of the Imgur community.
Fun fact: Marcus and Willis worked in the same advertising agency together before starting up their own companies.
