Is it advisable to be a sole founder?

There are many articles out there about sole founders but many of them are written with Western context. In Asia, I don’t see too many solo founders succeeding. So my questions to the community are:

• Is it advisable to build a business alone in Asia?
• Do investors invest in sole founders? Why or why not?
• What does it take to succeed as a sole founder? Any one out there with experience can you please share?
