Indonesian human resources management startup Talenta snapped up additional funding in the form of a pre-series A round led by East Ventures and Skystar Capital. Fenox Venture Capital also participated.

Both East Ventures and Fenox have prior investments in the Jakarta-based startup, which launched in 2014. Skystar is a new investor. Talenta doesn’t usually disclose the amounts it raises, but co-founder Joshua Kevin says this round sits at almost US$1 million. The new funds will be used for marketing and growing the team. A full series A round is planned for early next year.

The team was picked for the second running of Google’s Launchpad Accelerator.

(Updated 20 minutes after publishing: We’ve added some details provided by Joshua Kevin on size of the funding round and new product features.)

Hundreds of companies such as Go-Jek, Panorama, Mayapada Property, Topas TV, SWA Magazine, and Grab are using Talenta. The company says it is processing more than 15,000 employees every month.

Talenta’s cloud-based software lets employers create and maintain employee databases, record and generate attendance reports, and process payroll. In the future, Talenta wants its platform to directly integrate with fintech players and financial institutions to offer products such as payday loans and other flexible benefits.

The startup recently spun out a new product, Talenta Lite, which is intended for small and medium companies with less than 50 employees.

Talenta was one of the six startups from Indonesia selected to participate in the second edition of Google’s Launchpad Accelerator.
