South Korean edtech firm raises $50m from GGV Capital, SoftBank
Mathpresso, the South Korean firm behind education app Qanda, said it has secured US$50 million in its latest round.

With this latest round, Mathpresso has raised US$105 million from investors to date. It also marks GGV Capital’s first investment in South Korea.
- The company plans to use the fresh funds to strengthen its AI-based algorithms and develop business models for its regional offices in Indonesia and Thailand.
- Over 9.8 million monthly users from more than 50 different countries are now on its Qanda app, increasing fivefold from last year. Roughly 80% of its users live outside South Korea.
- Qanda is now available in seven languages including Korean, English, Spanish, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Thai. Aside from its headquarters in Seoul, Mathpresso has offices in Tokyo, Hanoi, Jakarta, and Bangkok.
