Kris Marszalek, CEO of Crypto.com, has congratulated Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump as the winner of this year’s United States presidential election, even as results are not yet made official.
The New York Times and prediction markets have said Trump would likely win the race.
“Crypto at its very core is about freedom of the individual and the future of crypto has never looked brighter than today,” Marszalek wrote on his X account on Wednesday afternoon.
As of around 1pm SGT on Wednesday, Trump secured 230 electoral college votes over his Democratic rival Kamala Harris’ 209 votes, according to the Associated Press.
A presidential candidate needs to secure at least 270 votes to win the White House.
