- A University of Minnesota student who was allegedly raped by Richard Liu, CEO of Chinese ecommerce retailer JD.com, filed suit against Liu in a Minneapolis court on Tuesday, Reuters reports.
- The lawsuit, filed by Chinese woman Liu Jingyao, seeks undisclosed damages and accuses both Liu and JD.com of a total of six counts of false imprisonment, civil assault and battery, and sexual assault or battery.
- JD.com is “vicariously liable” for the executive’s actions, as the events happened during “seemingly” work-related activities, the court document said.
