Stripe brings flagship services to Thailand

Global fintech giant Stripe is looking to further strengthen its business in Southeast Asia by launching its services in Thailand.

Stripe’s operations in the country will be led by Tee Chayakul, who previously served at Traveloka for almost six years.

The fintech firm will be rolling out support for subscriptions and recurring payments, ecommerce transactions, automated payments, and fraud detection and prevention, among other services.

Stripe said thousand of companies in the country have signed up for its services during its beta phase, which was held over the past year. Among these companies are Baania, Chanintr, Coconut Beach Bungalows, FlowAccount, and Storior.

Businesses in the country will also be able to process payments made through Visa, Mastercard, and other major credit cards, as well as transactions through local payment service PromptPay. It is collaborating with the Bank of Thailand for its services in the country.

Thailand is Stripe’s third Southeast Asian market, following Singapore and Malaysia. The company also has plans to expand in Indonesia.
