There’s a high likelihood that you’d think of Silicon Valley, which has become synonymous with the term, so much so that many in the sector use it like a benchmark. Think of how certain places are labeled as the “Silicon Valley of Europe” or “Silicon Valley of Asia.”

In Indonesia, a place frequently associated with that title is BSD City, a suburb owned by Sinar Mas Land, the property development arm of conglomerate Sinar Mas Group. Located about an hour’s drive from Jakarta, the area is home to an innovation center known as Digital Hub, which hosts the offices of several major tech companies such as Traveloka and has built an ecosystem to support firms such as TikTok and Apple.
