If Myntra and Jabong are the only names that come to mind when you think of online fashion in India, then you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Expected to touch US$35 billion by 2020, the fashion e-retail market in India is spawning a galaxy of startup stars that are beginning to glitter. What is important is not just what they bring to you, but also how they bring it to you.

With their millennial-inspired designs and tech tools, these firms no longer exist just as marketplaces or daily deal sites.

Yes, of course, shoes, accessories, and jewelry are on offer. But so is user-generated content, online trial rooms, designer rentals, and a chance to wave the magic wand and know how you will look even before you’ve put on the glass slipper.

Here we dig out some gold for you – seven startups, one for each day of the week. After all, who doesn’t want to look good?

It’s the end of the month, and your wallet’s thinning. But you’re still dying to get your hands on that Zara dress you saw in the shop window. Here’s what to do: rent it from Flyrobe.

The Mumbai-based online rental startup was launched last year by Shreya Mishra, Pranay Surana, and Tushar Saxena – all IIT Bombay grads. It’s giving a fashionable spin to India’s growing interest in collective consumption.

The startup has seen business grow from 300 orders in November 2015 to 1,600 in February 2016. It now has a curated collection of 300 western wear and 300 ethnic wear styles, and boasts an Instagram following of 16,000 users.

For a startup that aims to be the Uber of clothes, they sure seem to be on their way!

Startups don't cease to amaze me! I love reading literary fiction, traveling, eating out, and digging into Indian crafts. Can't do without my family!
