As usual, we have quite a few Asian tech start-ups on our radar this week, from China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and Singapore. For folks who are interested in investing or partnering with these start-ups, drop us an email — hello[at]penn-olson[dot]com – anytime.
And if you’re a tech start-up founder in Asia hoping to be featured, kindly send us your pitch here.
1. TV-Time | China
Watching TV is almost always an anti-social activity – but one Chinese start-up wants to change that, and is building a social network on discussions around popular TV shows
2. Affle | Singapore
Singapore-based start-up, Affle has received $10 million in fresh funds from D2C several weeks ago. We sat down with Anuj Khanna Sohum, the founder and CEO of Affle, to find out more about his future plans and vision for the company.
3. Fasae | China
There are so many location-based service (LBS) Chinese start-ups appearing of late, that even some of the ones that look fantastic don’t seem to serve much of a discernible purpose. A case in point is Fasae, made by a Chengdu-based start-up, which has a superb UI atop a mobile app which does… pretty much nothing.
4. COODE | Japan
COODE is a fashion Q&A site that was launched on September 7th. What makes COODE different from rest of these services is its Q&A approach. Users can ask each other questions about fasion, and to answer, they create online collages using all sorts of fashion items.
5. Vetter | Taiwan
Canvassing ideas and then getting feedback can be a pain in the ass. But the internet world isn’t short of solutions. Some might use Facebook questions while others use Twitter with hashtags, or even Google spreadsheets/forms to collect ideas. But Taiwan-based start-up, Vetter, feels that it has a better method to collect, rate, and compile good ideas.
6. Orion | Singapore
