Starhub Embraces Real-Time Media Sharing, Partners With Cooliris

liveshareSingapore’s telecommunication company, Starhub announced on Friday its partnership with Silicon Valley-based Cooliris, embracing its LiveShare technology to bring real-time media communication to its consumers.

This news came right after we featured LiveShare as an awesome real-time photo and video sharing platform. Here’s a video to quickly understand what the next generation of LiveShare would look like:

LiveShare will be showcased during ScreenSingapore, an international cinema event which StarHub will play as the Official Entertainment Network.

A participant can download the LiveShare application and share live photos from the red carpet and film premieres, which viewers all over the world can explore and comment via the mobile app or at LiveShare.com.

The photo stream will also be displayed “live” on large projector screens at The Grand Cathay and Shaw Theatres Lido on 6 June and 11 June respectively, as well as on the StarHub ScreenSingapore website and the StarHub Facebook page.

Stephen Lee, Assistant Vice President, Integrated Solutions, StarHub commented:

starhub“We are indeed happy to work with Cooliris to create a new and innovative social communication experience with the LiveShare service as part of our sponsorship of ScreenSingapore.”

“LiveShare allows us to give customers unique and meaningful shared experiences. A picture paints a thousand words, and LiveShare takes social communication to the next level with its fun and easy way to share photos at parties, get-togethers and other occasions with friends and families.”

For Starhub, it is a good step forward toward crowd-based and real-time media sharing. It is also a job well done by Derek Tan, Cooliris’ APAC Director, who runs an one-man-show in Singapore.

“We are excited to debut LiveShare’s real-time group media sharing experience in Singapore with StarHub, one of the top innovative carriers in the world,” said Soujanya Bhumkar, Cooliris co-founder and chief executive officer.
