StarCraft II: Singapore's Revenant joins Australian eSports team Exile5
Team Exile5 (x5) announced on Saturday the addition of Singapore StarCraft II player Marcus ‘Revenant’ Tan to their ranks. Previously from Flash eSports, Tan will be joining x5 as their “resident Singaporean competitor”. x5 Deuhfeurd, who made the announcement, added that:
“…[they] hope to build a strong partnership with him as we welcome him to the family.”
Tan, on the other hand, hopes that he’ll be able to “represent Singapore, and also Exile 5 to greater heights” with this next step. The Zerg player is currently enlisted in the army as part of Singapore’s mandatory National Service for able-bodied male citizens, and the enlistment has taken him away from his game somewhat.
Nonetheless Tan has managed to hang on with podium finishes even while denied daily practice – a testament to his talent.
With the first frantic few months of conscription now behind him, it may be possible for him to regain his throne in local and regional StarCraft II competitions this year.
Hopefully, the market will also cooperate and actually have tournaments for him to participate in.
