Previously called Chat Alia, Sribuu allows users to record and analyze their spending by automatically tracking how much money goes in and out of their accounts at major banks and e-wallet services such as GoPay and Ovo. The app also provides personalized recommendations based on users’ financial habits.
Sribuu has recorded 36x user growth since the launch of its beta version eight months ago. As of September this year, the app had over 45,000 users and analyzed transactions worth 2.3 trillion rupiah (around US$161.4 million).
The company was founded by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) alumni Nadia Amalia and Fransisca Susan, and Nadia Fadhila, a former communications officer at the United Nations. The idea for Sribuu was pitched during a fintech competition at MIT.
Sribuu will use the fresh funds to expand its market and improve its services.
