The personalized online learning platform plans to use the fresh funds to speed up research and development for its AI technology and to expand its data science and curriculum team.
Established in 2016, Geniebook curates worksheets based on individual student’s performance. The startup made its platform available to the public in 2017. Previously, it was only available for students of Singapore’s School Plus.
“We want to be part of the movement that is taking Singapore’s education system to a higher level,” said Geniebook chief revenue officer and co-founder Alicia Cheong.
According to a 2017 Nikkei Asian Review report, global edtech revenue is expected to climb to about US$40.9 billion by 2020, with the bulk of the growth coming from demand in Asia Pacific.
Geniebook’s platform currently includes customized worksheets for Primary 3 to Secondary 4 students in mathematics, science, and English.
