There are Billions of Tweets Per Month

twitterTwitter is growing rapidly and it’s evident that it is becoming one of the world’s more important social networking sites. As recently announced, these 145 million users contribute billions of tweet per day, reflecting high user engagement within the Twitter community.

Twitter’s user base may be far lower than what Facebook has, but several studies have concluded that Twitter is preferred social tool for businesses, especially among the fortune 500 companies.

The chart shows a steady growth in the volume of tweets despite being a relatively young company. The Twitter team is also quick to turn its traffic to revenue as it introduced its ad platform a couple of months ago. So far, early adopters are pretty please with the results generated from the ad platform.

User experience, on the other hand, isn’t greatly affected as Twitter creatively integrated ads into its search results. Its resonance matrix also ensures that relevant ads remain shown, while ads, which don’t resonate, well with users are dropped. Twitter certainly has an exciting future ahead.
