In brief: โ€˜Socialโ€™ ride-hailing startup in regional push to take on Grab and Go-Jek

Dacsee is making a mark in Malaysiaโ€™s ride-sharing market, having seen explosive growth in the number of drivers and users since its official launch in July 2018. In just six months, the number of bookings has jumped almost 800 percent.

Dacsee will expand its services to other Southeast Asian countries this year including Thailand. Itโ€™s also looking to launch in South Korea.

The Malaysian startup offers a โ€œsocialโ€ ride-hailing platform built on blockchain technology, which allows users to recommend drivers.

It also runs an affiliate recruitment system that enables drivers to earn points by signing up new drivers to the platform.

At the time of its beta launch in April last year, Dacsee claimed to have raised the equivalent of over US$23 million via public and private token sales.
