Zomato banks $250m in pre-IPO round

Indian restaurant discovery and food delivery platform Zomato has closed a US$250 fundraise from five different investors, according to an Info Edge filing.

More funding details

  • Lead investor: Kora Management
  • Returning backers: Fidelity Management & Research Company and/or its affiliates, along with Tiger Global Management
  • New investors: Bow Wave Capital Management and Dragoneer Investment Group

More company updates

  • Kora poured roughly US$115 million into Zomato while Fidelity pitched in with US$55 million and Tiger Global put in US$50 million. New backers Bow Wave and Dragoneer contributed about US$20 million and US$10 million, respectively.
  • With the infusion, the stake of early Zomato backer Info Edge now stands at 18.4%.
  • The investment comes after the Indian startup banked US$660 million in its ongoing series J round. The company’s CEO Deepinder Goyal also recently said that Zomato is likely to go public within the first half of this year.
