Founded by Sota Kimura in 2017, SmartRyde allows travelers to book transportation to and from airports. The service is now available in more than 700 airports in 150 countries.

The company is looking to capitalize on the rising pre-booked airport transfer market, which is expected to see an annual growth rate of 23.6% between 2021 and 2031. Last year, the company raised US$1.6 million in a series A round led by Angel Bridge.

Prior to the partnership with Splyt, SmartRyde also tapped into online travel agents, including Booking.com, Expedia, Trip.com, Indonesia-based Traveloka, and Argentina-based firm Despegar, to expand its service to more users.

Splyt’s platform, meanwhile, can integrate ride-hailing, airport transfers, scooters, bike-sharing, and food delivery suppliers into super apps and travel platforms.

It has partnered with service providers in more than 150 countries and counts Grab, SoftBank, and American Express Ventures as its investors.
