Openspace, EDBI co-lead $10m round of ex-Biofourmis employee’s heathtech firm

Neuroglee Therapeutics, a digital therapeutics startup, said it has raised US$10 million in a series A round co-led by Openspace Ventures and EDBI.

The raise also saw participation from the healthtech startup’s existing backers, including Raman Singh, ex-CEO of Mundipharma, Biofourmis co-founders Kuldeep Singh Rajput and Wendou Niu, and pharmaceutical firm Eisai.

Neuroglee Therapeutics develops and commercializes personalized digital therapeutics and virtual care solutions for patients with neurodegenerative diseases. It plans to use the freshly raised funds to help launch its virtual neurology clinics for patients diagnosed with mild cognitive impairments.

The startup is currently based in Singapore but plans to move its headquarters to Boston in the fourth quarter of the year. There, the company plans to build and scale its engineering and clinical operations and expand its commercial teams.

In addition to the new funding, the healthcare firm also said it will collaborate with Mayo Clinic to develop a care program called Neuroglee Connect, which would be based on the Minnesota-based firm’s healthy action to benefit independence and thinking program. The new offering combines Mayo Clinic’s evidence-based program and Neuroglee’s adaptive learning platform to provide at-home care for patients.

“Actionable data and virtual clinical support will give more patients access to world-class care, no matter where they are,” said Aniket Singh Rajput, founder and CEO of Neuroglee.

Rajput has previously served as a senior research assistant at the Singapore University of Technology and Design and as a research engineer at Biofourmis.
