Silicon Valley VCs back $11m round of Korean edtech startup

Classum, a South Korea-based edtech startup, has raised US$11 million in pre-series B funding from Dunamu & Partners, with participation from Silicon Valley-based investors Storm Ventures and Big Basin Capital as well as Abyss Capital.

Established in 2018 by Chaerin Lee and Youjin Choi, Classum runs an interactive learning platform for corporations and universities. It has a client base of over 6,000 organizations across 32 countries, serving multinational firms such as Samsung Electronics, LG Academy, Prudential, and Shiseido.

Classum will use the fresh funds for hiring and expansion purposes.

In 2021, the edtech startup raised US$6 million in a series A round led by Pearl Abyss Capital, Storm Venture, Big Basin Capital, and Smilegate Investment.
