WeRide has obtained the M1 and T1 licenses from Singapore’s Land Transport Authority, allowing the autonomous driving company to test its vehicles on a larger scale on public roads.

This makes WeRide the first to hold self-driving vehicle permits in the US, the United Arab Emirates, China, and Singapore simultaneously, the company said in a statement.

The Singapore license is also in line with the country’s focus on developing high-density autonomous public transportation.
