Micron Technology will invest an additional US$602 million in its Chinese chip-packaging plant in Xi’an, a move announced a few weeks after Beijing imposed restrictions on the use of its semiconductors. Micron plans to purchase equipment and expand assembly lines at the existing plant, creating 500 jobs and increasing its Chinese workforce to more than 4,500 people.
