Alibaba’s and JD.com’s sales for this year’s Singles Day were up year on year, with JD.com reaching record sales volume.

Despite concerns over China’s struggling economy, data from Syntun shows that gross merchandise volume across key ecommerce platforms increased by 2.08% to about US$156.40 billion year over year.
