Hello reader,
My mom died from cancer earlier this year.
It was heartbreaking for my family and all of our friends – she was a pillar of the community of sorts. Amid my sorrow, I found it funny that so many people came up to me during the funeral and introduced themselves as my mom’s “best friend,” even though I’d never even met most of them.
When I saw Tessa Therapeutics on our list of top fundraisers this week, it got me thinking about that time again. The Singapore-based cell therapy company aims to develop next-generation cancer treatments for hematological or blood-related malignancies and solid tumors.
Imagine what it would be like if cancer weren’t such a terrifying disease. What a world would that be to live in.
