Chronic illnesses such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases are significant challenges to the healthcare sector in Southeast Asia. According to the World Health Organization, 62% of deaths in the region are attributed to such diseases.

Mesh Bio, a Singapore-based healthtech startup, is one of the companies fighting to make chronic diseases less of a threat. It develops clinical decision support analytics and automation solutions for patients.

To further develop its solutions, Mesh Bio has secured an undisclosed amount of funding from East Ventures. It also aims to expand its operations to Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Dara, Mesh Bio’s health intelligence platform, provides real-time patient data such as health history, lab tests, and medical images. The platform offers predictive analytics to identify the risk of chronic diseases for earlier diagnosis and treatment.

“Given the increasing aging population worldwide, Mesh Bio has consistently prioritized the development of innovative solutions to address healthcare challenges associated with chronic diseases,” said Andrew Wu, the company’s CEO and co-founder, in a statement.

Wu established Mesh Bio with CTO Arsen Batagov in 2018. It last raised US$1.8 million in a seed round led by Elev8 and Seeds Capital in 2021.
