Temasek’s 65 Equity Partners pours $105m into SG’s Cityneon

Singapore’s Cityneon Holdings said it has secured S$150 million (US$105.5 million) from Temasek-owned 65 Equity Partners.

The company also announced that it would be rebranding to Neon, a move that represents its goals of blending physical and digital offerings.

Neon creates experiences using tangible and intangible environments. It brings these experiences to locations for clients like Disney, Universal, Marvel, and Hasbro, among others.

The Singapore-based firm recently extended its footprint to new markets like Peru and Egypt, where it’s using its tech to create museum attractions like “Machu Picchu and the Golden Empires of Peru” as well as “Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs.”

Neon also has deals with Warner Bros and the Qatar Free Zones, among others.

In addition to the roughly US$165 million it raised last April, Neon said it will use the fresh capital to bolster its growth efforts. This includes expanding into new markets, acquiring intellectual property, strengthening its tech capabilities, and forming new businesses.
