SG data center firm Flow Digital names new CFO
Flow Digital Infrastructure has appointed Alok Garodia as its new chief financial officer, effective immediately.
Flow, a Singapore-based data center developer and operator in Asia-Pacific, said Garodia has over 23 years of financial leadership experience and previously served as CFO at Prime Venture Partners.
He has also held key roles on regional and global leadership teams at Nokia, Nike, and Lenovo.
The company recently expanded its leadership team and announced the construction of a new data center in central Tokyo.
Founded in 2021, Flow operates and develops data centers in Japan, Korea, the Philippines, and Malaysia, with a portfolio of 11 assets and over 170MW of current and planned IT capacity.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Growth-stage infrastructure companies prioritize seasoned financial leadership
FLOW’s appointment of Garodia follows a clear industry trend of hiring CFOs with extensive experience during expansion phases.
Garodia brings over 23 years of financial leadership across diverse sectors, including previous roles as CFO at Prime Venture Partners and senior positions at Nokia, Nike, and Lenovo1.
This aligns with recent appointments across the tech infrastructure sector, where companies consistently chose CFOs with two to three decades of experience during critical growth periods.
STACK INFRASTRUCTURE appointed Heather Paduck with over 20 years of experience in 20192, A10 Networks selected Tom Constantino with 20+ years in 20173, and Databricks chose Dave Conte with 30 years of experience in 20194.
The trend suggests that infrastructure companies facing rapid scaling challenges, such as FLOW’s recent expansion to Central Tokyo and its portfolio of 11 assets across four countries1, specifically seek financial leaders who have navigated complex, multi-geography operations before.
2️⃣ Private equity-backed infrastructure firms use CFO appointments to signal expansion readiness
FLOW’s timing of this appointment aligns with a broader strategy among private equity-backed infrastructure companies to strengthen financial leadership before major growth phases.
The company is supported by PAG Real Assets, which manages over $55 billion in assets1, and this CFO appointment coincides with FLOW’s recent leadership team expansion, including new CEO, CCO, and CBOO roles.
This trend appears across similarly backed companies. For instance, STACK INFRASTRUCTURE’s CFO appointment in 2019 occurred when the company was “focused on aggressive expansion plans” and backed by “a leading global private equity firm”2.
The strategic timing suggests these appointments serve dual purposes: preparing financial infrastructure for rapid scaling while signaling to the market that the company has the leadership depth to execute ambitious growth plans.
For FLOW, which has grown from a 2021 startup to operating 170MW of capacity across four countries1, appointing an experienced CFO likely positions the company for its next phase of regional expansion in the competitive Asia Pacific data center market.
