Kher has a background in finance, and was chief risk officer at Max Life Insurance Company in India before joining Sequoia in 2016.
Singh had resigned from Zilingo’s board after a probe was launched into the business transactions and revenue across the Singapore-based startup’s platform. This follows the reveal of the company’s fundraising plans, which had drawn questions into the startup’s accounting practices.
The probe, said to be initiated by Sequoia and fellow investor Temasek, also led to Zilingo co-founder and CEO Ankiti Bose being suspended by the startup. Singh’s departure was preceded by Temasek’s Xu Weiyang, with Burda Principal Investments replacing Albert Shyy with Neil Fong.
