Southeast Asia’s first offline Hearthstone tournament concludes in Singapore

The region’s first offline Hearthstone tournament concluded yesterday in Singapore as a part of the GE3 community gaming event. Organized by Hearthstone Alley (who we managed to speak to as well, stay tuned for their interview!), the three day tournament saw 24 participants, who battled it out in a fierce double elimination group stage format.

In first place was Bjorn ‘Zeys’ Ong, a Legendary tier player on the North American server. He said that he had “expected” to win. Following closely in second place was Alvin ‘Unistar’ Yap, and in third sat Samuel ‘Kero’ Soh.

Entry fee for the tournament was capped at S$10 (approximately $7.90) per person, and those proceeds went towards the prizes for the top three winners, who walked away with generous cash prizes, booster pack funds, and MOL points. Additional prizes were awarded courtesy of Hearthstone Alley and the tournament’s production company, Epic Gaming TV.

The first-of-its-kind tournament is having a delayed telecast on Epic Gaming TV’s Twitch channel right now. It is casted by Seth ‘Bear’ Wong and Lawrence ‘Larc’ Silva from Malaysia. Tune in if you want to watch the tournament – and for the chance to win some prizes on the live stream giveaway!
