ShopBack appoints former Slack exec as CTO

ShopBack, a Singapore-based shopping and rewards platform, has appointed San Wai Oo as its new CTO.

Before joining ShopBack, Oo was the vice president of engineering at team communication platform Slack. He was responsible for several functions in the US-based firm such as core product interoperability as well as mobile and desktop client capabilities. He also helped build the company’s engineering center in India.

Aside from Slack, he also worked with other US tech companies such as LinkedIn and Yahoo.

At ShopBack, Oo will be in charge of developing tech-based business growth for merchants and building new features for users. He will also lead the startup’s tech team, which currently has a headcount of 250, across its regional hubs.
