Startups in the country collectively raised at least US$145 million today in disclosed funding from international and local investors.

SoftBank has funded 10% of India’s unicorns

SoftBank has invested nearly US$14 billion in India in over a decade, said a report from The Economic Times, quoting the company’s founder and CEO Masayoshi Son.

According to Son, SoftBank is the largest foreign investor in the country. It has funded nearly 10% of all unicorns in India such as Swiggy, Cars24, Meesho, and Unacademy.

The CEO added that SoftBank’s portfolio companies have created nearly 1 million jobs in India.
