RockMelt is an Efficient Facebook Browser, and More

RockMelt LogoRockMelt beta is out. We tried it and we love it. For social media lovers, Rockmelt is going to make surfing the web so much more efficient. Say goodbye to multi tabs and windows. You practically have everything important on a page.

Accessing your Facebook, Twitter, RSS feeds are just within arm (mouse) length. And they aren’t in the form of bookmarks. You can update your Facebook status, like, comment or even stalk, all done within the sides of your RockMelt browser.

Sharing information via Facebook can be done on any site too. I don’t mean the tedious copy and paste method. The share button is just beside the address bar and can turn any web page into a Facebook update. In short, this is practically a browser built for Facebook users.

Call it efficient or time sucking. RockMelt brings a total new Facebook-ing experience. This browser is truly social and has a strong competitive edge to establish itself as a browser powerhouse. I’m sure many who tried it will stick to it.

That said, RockMelt could be a good Blue Ocean Strategy case study. It will bring the browser war to whole new level. I’m excited how RockMelt would fare against its more experienced competitors. Somehow, I’m feeling pretty optimistic.

For those who have tried RockMelt, let us know what you think.

Update:

RockMelt’s seamless social integration (Facebook and Twitter) with its browser seems to be the core of its product strategy. It means that the new browser wouldn’t be able to capture Chinese Internet users in China until the great firewall is lifted.
