More online marketplace… Indonesians are now spoilt for choice when it comes to buying and selling things on the web. Indonesia’s telecom giant, Kreatif Bersama, has announced Bejubel.com, a new online marketplace where buyers and sellers meet.
With huge budget, Kreatif Bersame has equipped Bejubel with several unique features including SMS notifications, private messaging and social promotions. Bejubel is also available on multiple platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and iPhone as an app. It will also roll out its BlackBerry and Android mobile app soon.

“This is a great product far superior to anything in the marketplace,” said Matthieu Cavalie, one of the founders whom also founded the Indonesian Multimedia Mobile Association.
“With the products and feature roadmap set in place, we expect a high increase in use of this product in the near time,” he added.
With more than 40 million Internet users, we’re witnessing a lot of new online marketplace tapping into the Indonesian market. Multiply.com, has also recently launched its office in Indonesia. If you haven’t already known, Multiply has changed its direction from being a social network to a social online marketplace. It has about 12 million users and 125,000 stores under its belt. It is also hugely popular in Asia, especially in Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia.
With the big players moving in quickly, it doesn’t seem to be a good sign for start-ups like Tokopedia. The online marketplace start-up has a pretty decent statistic though. Tokopedia has over 7,800 active shops and 75,000 registered members. It has 700,000-800,000 unique visitors per month and a total monthly transaction of about $300,o00. Can it withstand the pressure? We’ll find out more from them and update as we learn.
