There are many toy rental companies around if you don’t want to purchase toys every few months for your easily-bored child. But if you find renting toy after toy for your child is too much of a hassle, you can consider a monthly subscription service where you pay a flat fee for a fixed number of toys a month.
ToysAMonth gives you several plans to choose from – get anywhere from 3-6 toys per month for a flat monthly fee. But more ‘valuable’ toys can be equivalent to more than ‘one toy’.

What might not be so attractive here is there does not seem to be a trial rental. For parents who want to try out ToysAMonth’s service and compare to other toy rental companies, forcing them to immediately make a 3-month commitment might put them off.
Furthermore, their website states that the subscription will renew monthly automatically. So this means that if you forget to cancel after 3 months, you will still be paying them. I think ToysAMonth’s model works much more in favour of them rather than parents. This will only be great for parents who are already satisfied with ToysAMonth and already intend to use them as their permanent toy rental company.
Akin to the freedom and easy of buying a magazine off the shelf, rental by toy is on more of an ad-hoc basis. Whereas ToysAMonth’s system is buying a magazine subscription, perhaps unnecessarily tying you down too early.
