Exclusive insights from the Gojek-to-GoTo journey
When Gojek first launched in 2010, it had just 20 motorcycle riders and operated from a tiny call center in Indonesia.
Fast forward to today, and the firm is one of the most prominent Southeast Asian companies. On top of its initial ride-hailing service, Gojek’s super app now boasts numerous on-demand services and fintech capabilities. GoTo Group – the combined entity of Gojek and ecommerce major Tokopedia – also listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in April this year at a valuation of US$32 billion.

The firm’s meteoric rise was the result of over two decades of hard work from Gojek’s team and its co-founders. Now as part of a larger entity, the company is sure to have much more in store for the future.
GoTo Group co-founder and commissioner Kevin Aluwi will discuss the firm’s plans, alongside the merger, the IPO process, and the lessons he’s learned while leading Gojek, with Tech in Asia Indonesia correspondent Ardi Wirdana at a fireside chat at Tech in Asia Conference 2022 on Thursday, September 22, at 10 a.m. SGT.
