Razer Cortex promises summer sales all year round!

Razer has been on a roll with its software. Today it launched the Razer Cortex, a game launcher that one-ups everything else on the market by allowing its users to wallow in a perpetual Steam sale.

The Razer Cortex has a deals section, which is essentially a price comparison engine that gives users access to exclusive game discounts. Razer’s first partner for this eternal sale is GOG.com, a digital game distributor best known for its catalog of older games playable on modern PCs. To kickstart the Cortex, the deals section is offering eight games at 80 percent off normal retail price for a whole month.

To qualify for the discount, you must access the sale through the Cortex software or the Razer Deals subsite. However, players in Asia will be disappointed to know this: you still get redirected to the partner sites to finish each transaction, meaning that you still need to have access to credit cards or Paypal. Apart from the game discounts, the Razer Cortex software also automatically backs up your saved games to a cloud server, and allows you to take videos and screenshots. Bye, Fraps!
