QuickBytes: How this AWS event aims to help businesses level up their cloud strategies

In partnership withAmazon Web Services

These days, everything is on the cloud. Entire businesses are run without any need for on-site data storage and solutions, enabling firms to work faster and scale better.

But being on the cloud is much easier said than done.

There are a plethora of providers, tools, architectures, and solutions that can be used, and it can be overwhelming. For young startups, figuring out the right way to go about your cloud strategy is daunting, especially when they have a limited budget. For bigger businesses, trying to leverage cloud solutions for effective digital transformation involves many moving parts and is harder than it seems.

Fortunately, there are plenty of resources to help companies figure out the best way to build on the cloud.

One such resource is Cloud Day Indonesia, which is run by Amazon Web Services (AWS). With the theme “Access to Technology for All,” the event takes place on September 26 at Ritz Carlton Pacific Place in Jakarta, Indonesia. It’s aim: to bring together founders, business leaders, and technical experts to exchange ideas and best practices on cloud strategies.

Anthony Amni, country general manager for Indonesia at AWS, shares more about what to expect at the event.

What is AWS Cloud Day Indonesia?

AWS Cloud Day Indonesia is designed for leaders and technology enthusiasts in the country. The one-day event will explore how organizations in Indonesia and Southeast Asia are using AWS Cloud to accelerate innovation.

The event will welcome participants with a morning plenary session that will give insights on how they can drive sustainable growth and foster a spirit of innovation within their organizations.

Attendees will also hear from AWS leaders, customers, and industry experts about:

  • Developing the right mental model for digital transformation
  • Harnessing the power of cloud technology to support businesses
  • Aligning organizational resources to accelerate a culture of innovation

To maximize the AWS Cloud Day Indonesia experience, attendees will want to explore the extensive catalog of sessions covering a wide range of topics, industries, AWS services, and more.

Why did you want to run this event?

Through the event, we’re hoping to help Indonesian businesses discover insights into how AWS can help their business development efforts, whether it be improving efficiency, reducing costs, or opening up new opportunities for them to use artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), data analytics, migration, and more.

Who’s the target audience you have in mind and why is it important for them to attend this event?

Broadly speaking, we’re targeting three types of people with the event: business and technical decision-makers, developers, and startup founders and builders.

For business decision-makers, they’ll benefit from the morning keynote sessions that cover important points, such as accelerating the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy and generative AI and the implications it has for their businesses.

Meanwhile, the morning plenary sessions will cover how attendees can foster innovation and grow sustainably.

For deep dives, decision-makers in the IT field can choose to attend any of the four afternoon breakout tracks focusing on core financial systems, application modernization, analytics, and AI/ML, depending on what’s most relevant to their needs.

For startup founders and builders, they can visit the Startup Loft to meet the AWS team, learn from fellow founders, and gain recommendations on building and growing their dream startup from minimum viable product to scale.

Last but not least, developers can join the AWS Build. On track, which shows participants how to use AWS tools and patterns to improve productivity and development velocity through live demos. They’ll also be able to interact with the community at the Startup Loft and Developer Lounge to learn workload use cases for data analytics and AI/ML.

What are the highlights that attendees should look forward to at the event?

One highlight would be the opening keynote speech, which will cover how AWS, together with our customers Superbank and eFishery, are innovating toward building a stronger digital future for Indonesia. We will also cover how AWS drives advancement in the realm of AI and machine learning – as well as generative AI more specifically – and how healthtech firm Halodoc is innovating in this space. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge into this new technology and what it means for their own companies.

For startups in particular, Startup Loft is one of the most valuable segments of the event. As shared earlier, firms will be able to connect with the AWS team and other founders and get guidance and advice for challenges they’re facing with their startup – be it in terms of technical development, recruitment, or even fundraising.

Who are some of the key speakers at the event?

Attendees will get to hear from business and technical leaders from Indonesia’s fastest-growing fintech, healthtech, and agritech startups, such as SiCepat, Traveloka, Xendit, Vida, and Tiptip. They’ll also learn from thought leaders from Indonesia’s largest enterprises and technology firms.

With these sessions, participants will know how these companies have implemented AWS solutions and services to accelerate their business growth and serve more customers across Indonesia.

AWS technical experts will be on hand to share their perspectives on the more nitty-gritty details of building on the cloud.

How does AWS Cloud Day Indonesia factor into AWS’ larger goals of supporting startups in the region?

Beyond infrastructure, AWS has put in place tools, resources, and programs to help startups take full advantage of cloud computing and deepen their technical capabilities. Through events like Cloud Day Indonesia, we aim to provide a comprehensive platform for startups to learn about what AWS has to offer as well as to interact and learn from fellow founders and other experts in the industry.

Join fellow startups, business leaders, and technical experts at AWS Cloud Day Indonesia, which is happening on September 26 at Ritz Carlton Pacific Place in Jakarta, Indonesia. Startups will learn how they can evolve their cloud strategies as they grow, hear from investors on tips and trends on fundraising, interact with attendees at technical chalk talks, and discover the startup programs available for every stage of their journey.
