Quest Drop partners with MOL, adds epayments in its games publishing and operating platform

quest drop logoMobile games publisher and operator Quest Drop announced today it is partnering with online payments company MOL Global. MOL became known as the first Malaysian company to list on NASDAQ in the US (albeit not with spectacular results), with the aim of expanding its epayment services in the rest of Southeast Asia.

Through partnering with MOL, Quest Drop will be able to offer its clients and partners in-game payment options using the Malaysian company’s microtransaction currency known as MOLPoints.

“MOL’s payment services will now be part of Quest Drop’s publishing and operation packages,” Quest Drop founder and CEO Don Sim tells Tech in Asia. The press release adds: “The partnership with MOL allows Quest Drop full autonomy to offer in-game payment services to clients and partners at a lower-than-published transaction rate.”

Quest Drop is a subsidiary of Singapore-based games developer Daylight Studios, which recently raised US$704,000 in series A funding. This is Quest Drop’s second strategic partnership in the games space. It has already partnered with localization company Synthesis, which has worked on major commercial titles such as Far Cry 4 and the FIFA series, in order to provide its clients with localization services.

Combined with this latest partnership, Quest Drop moves further toward becoming a one-stop shop for smaller games publishers who have no easy access to services like marketing, localization, cloud server support, and now microtransaction options.
