Qiuqiu: China’s Android App Recommendation Engine

qiuqiuHow do you find good Android apps?

Most would find it under the Android marketplace listing, or read blogs to find out about the latest coolest app. But Qiuqiu, an Android App recommendation engine which was unveiled last week at Disrupt Beijing feels that app search can be done in a more systematic and personalized manner.

The Chinese app recommendation engine, developed by AppChina, a third-party Android market place, allows users to search for apps primarily based on: (1) location, (2) time, (3) gender.

The app crawls across all 70 third-party Android app stores in China with over 700,00 apps now within its database. Besides location, time, and gender, we also understand that Qiuqiu is looking to understand users’ behavior and language to further personalize app search. Below is a demo by Mia, product manager of Qiuqiu, who I spoke to at the event. Click here for our live blog on Qiuqiu’s pitch at Disrupt.
